Yass Community Markets – Proudly managed by the Rotary Club of Yass!

We have now been running our local Community Market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month since 2010. From our humble beginnings as a Farmers Market at the Yass Showgrounds Round House- showcasing fresh produce, jams, fruit and vegetables, baked goods and plants.

We were at our peak in the idyllic location of St Augustine’s Hall- the proximity to the street plus the beautiful venue attracted a variety of stallholders from far and wide and consequently many market goers. Most market mornings we would see over 450 visitors fabulous!

By shopping at the Community Markets over the years you have assisted in the ongoing viability of local stallholders and to all those of you that threw a coin into the Rotary bucket upon entry – thank you. Your contributions along with stall holder fees are all channeled back into our Rotary projects.

As we are an independent Club that has autonomy deciding where the money is distributed back into our community, Yass Rotary has been responsive in addressing local needs that improve the overall welfare of our community and initiatives further afield, and will continue to do so!

In addition to the Rotary Club of Yass raising money, we host other community groups like the Yass Men’s Shed which display and sell an array of their finely turned timber wares, Bowning and District Lions Club with their delicious BBQ breakfasts and the Yass Rural Australians for Refugees selling secondhand books.

Our iconic Memorial Hall may be a grand old dear but we have seen a reduction in visitors and vendors since this move – was it CoVid impact or are we just simply saturated with markets in our district? Whatever the reason our market has ran its course – so it’s syonara for now while we regroup and come up with another exciting project idea!

We have 2 more markets – this Saturday 3rd June, along with the 17th June 9-1pm – please come down and soak up the atmosphere one last time! While your there thank our dedicated team of Rotarians generously donating their time, and our talented vendors that roll up each Market morning
with a smile and their wares!
