Well…didn’t we witness the Magic of Rotary this year! Simon’s year as President was nothing short of magical — packed with passion, purpose, and progress. |
Just inducting 12 new members would’ve kept most Presidents busy — but under Simon’s leadership, we achieved so much more. We hosted major events like the Say No to Domestic and Family Violence Peaceful Walk and the Volunteer & Community Expo. And the pinnacle moment - the Flood Benefit Concert, organised in just three days — a spectacular success!
We proudly supported two students, Oliver Frean and Bella Jarratt, to attend the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF).
Our fundraising efforts were stronger than ever — from the Christmas Raffle and BBQs (with all hands on deck), to the highly successful Vintage Stall and the ever-popular Wood Raffle.

We welcomed a plethora of guest speakers — including Gayleen Burley (YVC CEO) and Wendy Tuckerman MP, alongside local doctors, school principals, authors, aged care leaders, and other inspiring community voices.
- We supported the Yass Valley Triathlon Club
- Slept rough to raise funds for ShelterBox
- Celebrated Alfred McCarthy’s 90th birthday and honoured his 46 years of Rotary service — remarkable!
- Installed 7 Peace Poles in 7 local schools to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Yass.
It was an epic year by every measure — and Simon, you led it with enthusiasm, dedication, and heart. Congratulations, Simon! You’ve done us proud.
