This year marks 26 years of the Yass and District Education Foundation, which has helped local students pursue apprenticeships, university, and other tertiary pathways—long before the national Country Education Foundation (CEF) was established.
A key supporter from the very beginning has been Yass Rotary’s, Glenlothian Education Foundation, which continues to provide a number of annual student grants one of which goes to YDEF creating opportunities for local students to follow their dreams.
Importantly - the local Country Education Foundation receives no government funding—its success is built entirely on community generosity.
We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Glenlothian recipient, Jess Fields, will be the guest speaker at our general meeting - Wednesday 23 July. Jess will share her story and reflect on the importance of both financial and emotional support in helping rural students thrive.
Together, the YDEF & Yass Rotary continue to show our young people that their community believes in them.
